Title: New Chip Leader -- Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken Doubles Through Patrik Antonius Log: Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken raises preflop, Patrik Antonius reraises, and Dicken calls. The flop comes Js-7d-5d, Dicken bets out, and after a long period of thought, Antonius moves all in. Dicken immediately calls with 7c-5h (two pair). Antonius shows Kd-Jd (pair of jacks, flush draw), and he has a ton of outs to win this hand. The turn card is the 9h, and the river is the As. Antonius fails to improve, and Darrell Dicken doubles up in the biggest pot of the tournament to about $885,000 in chips. Antonius took a huge hit on that hand, but he still has an above-average stack of about $412,000 in chips. But Darrell Dicken is the new chip leader! |

Re: Gigabet now leading Bellagio 5 Diamond Classic
I love how if anyone made either of these preflop moves in an $11 MTT, they are complete donks...but here they are geniuses. Its the grand ol' circle of life.
P.S. I'm not by any means saying that either of their moves were good or bad, just a poker social commentary. |

"If I made this move in my game, you'd all laugh at me, but he's gigabet." This isn't poker commentary, it's a lack of understanding. |

[/ QUOTE ] I think you missed my commentary. Its not "If I made this move in my game, you'd all laugh at me, but he's gigabet." Its "If Gigabet made this move in an $11 MTT it'd probably be a donk move." Him making it in the WPT does have value. Eh, I was gonna post a big expansion of my "commentary" but decided it wasn't really worth it. Do I understand all the moves Gigabet makes? By no means. But I am one of those in the Gigabet fan club and feel that his hand posts give the most insights into poker theory and touch on psychology and philosophy. Edit: I shoulda just waited one minute before posting my original post...Degen said exactly what I wanted to say. |

Re: Gigabet now leading Bellagio 5 Diamond Classic
any of those preflop moves would be terrible in a sng. darrel wouldn't make them there either. there's just not enough chips.
i'm sure you understand that there's differences between deep stacked poker and not. c |
