Is there any way to \"unwrap\" a hand history file?
I'm having problems with some HH files I received from someone, he creates the files using the export in PT but when I receive them I get an error because the files are wrapped (lines are entered down at a point to the right) Is there any way for me to unwrap these files? My notepad does not have the word wrap on BTW.
Thanks |

Re: Is there any way to \"unwrap\" a hand history file?
Sounds like it was output with a different line delimiter than what notepad wants.
Easiest solution is to try opening 'em with WordPad. If that doesn't work, there're a bunch of other slightly-more-complicated options. |

Re: Is there any way to \"unwrap\" a hand history file?
Thanks, I opened the files with wordpad and they show the same problem. Here is an example:
DIRTYRED7 checks, dr ruth checks, Doctologist bets $2, DIRTYRED7 calls $2, dr ruth folds. See how the last part "dr ruth folds" is entered down to the next line. The guy has tried several times to send me an unwrapped file, he even emailed PT support. What are the the other options you spoke of? Thanks |

Is he sending it to a web based mail account?

Re: Is there any way to \"unwrap\" a hand history file?
It looks like my snap judgement was wrong.
I'm not sure what you're getting at, because I don't have any hand histories of the format you're describing (most of my HHs are from Party, which would look different.) I was reading your initial description as something that looked like this: Code:

When the delimiter is wrong you sometimes get text that looks like this

...but that doesn't seem to be what you're saying. It does sound, now, that it's likely a word wrap being imposed by his mail editor, like illunious suggested. Which is to say, either have him attach the files rather than copy & paste 'em in, or deal with the word wrap. Sorry :/ |

Re: Is there any way to \"unwrap\" a hand history file?
NP thanks for the help, he is sending them to a web based email as attachments. They are Party hand histories but I think when you export them through PT they change format. So the only way to unwrap these is to go through the file manually and delete the added spaces?

Re: Is there any way to \"unwrap\" a hand history file?
Something is messing up the hand histories between your friend exporting them and you importing them. You shouldn't have to fix the wrapping yourself. Try having your friend put the hand histories into a Zip file, and email it as an attachment. That, or have him put them up on some free webspace like Geocities or AngelFire. Also, make sure you both have the same PT version. I don't think that'd be the cause, but it couldn't hurt.

If nothing else you can import them as a .csv file with Excel. It will let you specify the comma as the break point.
