USA Today Article/Party Poker/Banned Software
Hello,
The USA Today will be doing an article in relation to Party Poker and the banned software. If you have had an account closed, and especially if you were one of the few that had money seized, we'd like to hear from you and get you in the article. The article will focus on the bans, the "reason" for the bans, and the privacy issues. Please e-mail support@pokerprophecy.com, we are working directly with the technology writer for the USA Today. Best Regards, Ryan Schultz |

Re: USA Today Article/Party Poker/Banned Software
You're right, it will probably damage poker, but it's Party's own fault. You could argue that it's PP and PE's fault, but when did PartyPoker ever say they were banned? They didn't, they just started sending out warnings and shutting down accounts. They should have contacted PP and PE and said "We're about to ban your software, tell your users". If PE and PP didn't warn their users then Party could have updated their Terms and sent out a notice to all players that mass profiling software is banned. But they didn't. They did their typical heavy handed BS and deserve to get bit in the arse for it.

Guess what, if you don't have a solid association with the original developers you are on the cusp of going out of business on a whim. This seems like a really cheap lesson for them to learn now. |

Re: USA Today Article/Party Poker/Banned Software
I've never cheated in a casino but from watching shows like "The Take Down" etc... It doesn't appear that the casino has to have a reason to walk you to the door weather you have or not.
Example - Counting cards is not illegal but they will call the goon squad on you just as fast as if you've committed a felony, show you the door, and make sure that every other casino in the US has your picture and data. All the more reason for a software maker to have a relationship with an "International Poker Council" or some such self monitoring non-governmental group that has some Teeth, or at the very least a few of the big online poker houses who seem to be leading. I think where the flaw in most of our thinking is, is that these poker places online are not casino's when in fact they really are casino's, just operating in a new frontier but most likely under the same guidelines and we are pushing our luck. Just my thoughts Flame away One Street at a Time wdbaker Denver, Co |
