Pushing AQ too early in the tournament?
**** Hand History for Game 3193494512 *****

Is that overly-anxious of me? I can't imagine just limping in with such a small stack, I sure can't imagine folding, but maybe i'm wrong because it rarely seems that someone back there isn't holding a much better hand they will call with... |

Re: Pushing AQ too early in the tournament?
i used to think i was "wasting" my AK's when i pushed in a situation i was unlikely to be called. I realise now that my thinking then was flawed. Simply put, 2 big cards dont have that much edge.

Re: Pushing AQ too early in the tournament?
It's fine. The best you can hope for is someone seeing an act of desperation and calling with A9.

Re: Pushing AQ too early in the tournament?
i would definitely push here
your M is 3.5 and about to shrink on the next hands, and you are the first one into the pot. i would be hoping to just take down the blinds here, as the 150 chips would increase your stack by almost 30%. i wouldn't be surprised to see calls from a big stack with a weaker Ax, in which case you dominate and have a good chance at doubling up. |
