OT: Wi Fi Connection
Anyone playing on Wi Fi out there? Good/Bad? What about multi-tabling with wifi? Makes me a little nervous.
Thanks. J |

[/ QUOTE ] yeah. i think stt's are most dangerous because you often have a table(s) 4-handed or less. in most all mtt situations, having to fold for ~5 minutes is not a disaster. if your connection really goes down for the night, call a buddy and let him play (if he's good) or direct him. and then buy him a beer/car depending on how it goes. |

Re: OT: Wi Fi Connection
If you buy a WiFi router, it basically allows you to play from anywhere in your house. If you lose your internet connection, 99% of the time it will be due to something other than wireless problems (unless you live in a mansion and you have the WiFi router in one corner and you're in the other).
Oh, there's some deal with older wireless (not cellular) phones interfering with the WiFi signal. So, if you have a wireless phone just make sure to configure the router to send out a signal with a frequency different from that of the wireless phone. |

Re: OT: Wi Fi Connection
I use wireless too. Also, last year at school I just connected to someone elses wireless. I eventually met the person and found out that he was across the quad from me and 2 floors up. Never had a problem except a few times the whole school lost internet, which sucked.

Re: OT: Wi Fi Connection
i strictly use wireless and ten table with no problems.
if u havent picked up a router yet, id go with a linksys for overall consistency. i had problems and have heard about other people having problems with netgear routers so id shy away from them. |
