$10 PStars MTT ITM - correct push?
We're down to 80 from 1,500 starters, all the money is at the final table.
Everybody has been playing like moving up $7 in pay is what this game is about, except for MP1, a true loose canon that twice within the last 12 hands PF have raised 88 from EP and then moved all-in on flops containing over-cards. Last time he was reduced from t50k to current level. There's 9 minutes until the blinds escalate again. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t2000 (9 handed) converter UTG+1 (t22952) MP1 (t12917) MP2 (t22713) MP3 (t23580) CO (t18184) Button (t66986) Hero (t16575) BB (t2864) UTG (t53103) Preflop: Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls t2000, 2 folds, MP2 calls t2000, MP3 calls t2000, 1 fold, Button calls t2000, Hero raises all-in to t16475. Is my line OK? Best, McMelchior (Johan) |

Correction:
The loose canon was MP2 (who limps after the big UTG stack) , not MP1. |

Meh?
I cannot say for sure. It likely just boils down to a math problem based on the percentage of times you are getting called and the range of hands the caller has. I would rather do this with T9s than KQo, though. You are very, very likely to be dominated/slight dog if anyone calls. |

HU is all about high card value, and suitedness only adds about 2% HU. How many hands are we really dominated here? It's less than 2% of the time. Also, we're probably better than 50/50 when called since villain only has 1BB, and getting 2:1 this seems like an easy push. |

Unless someone is trapping, who is limping with AK,AQ, QQ-AA? I would almost never, absent some great read, play this hand any differently given this situation. |

I've seen people limp with some weird things.
I like the push with KQo, is all I'm saying. But if you're getting called here, KQo sucks. |

I love this push. Bullying the limpers is another of my secrets of getting easy chips. However, this IS a 10 MTT, and a hand like A4 will likely call you. Due to the range of hands however, I like it. |

I would rather do this with T9s than KQo [/ QUOTE ] in this case the BB is going to be all-in, and KQ does way better against a random hand than T9s does. the BB's presence should make the limpers much more reluctant to call you, both for the dumb psychological reason that they know they'll see your cards and for the non-dumb reason that you would be much less inclined to do it if you weren't going to be ahead of the random BB. |

Re: $10 PStars MTT ITM - correct push?
I'd push. You're getting 2:1 when called, and this is great spot (HU against a probable wide calling range) to build your stack. If villain is playing like he wants to fold his way up the money, he will fold mediocre holdings, since he can survive another orbit after the SB passes him.

Re: $10 PStars MTT ITM - correct push?
Nice spot for a PVS. With a good read on the limpers I often make this push with any two.
Really I'm only worried about UTG waking up with AA. After that they're probably just looking to catch a cheap flop. Do you have any read that he would limp UTG with a big pocket pair? In other words, is he a TAG solid player who is capable of making a move like that? |
