Email TSN and tell them to put the 2005 WSOP back on TV!!!!
Chucky B has been good enough to keep us all informed about TSN's very poor poker coverage. Most of you know they had their 2005 WSOP coverage scheduled for this month but with the return of hockey, they cancelled it all. I am sure most of us understand that - but they still have time slots to broadcast poker - all they have to do is dump darts, lumberjacks or stongest man shows. There have to be more of us who want to watch poker than these shows, so lets let them know. I have sent them an email complaining, the rest of you should too. Here is the address:
http://www.tsn.ca/broadcast/email_fo...to=programming I know many of you are cynics about the effectiveness of this, but why don't do it anyway, a couple dozen emails won't hurt. I used to work in the industry and when it comes to cable channels, they tend to listen more than networks because they have a smaller viewing audience. Thanks. |

Ive emailed twice from different non related addresses... Neither has gotten a response.
Im thinking of changing my email to: "Dear Hockey Tsn: Hockey Where Hockey is Hockey your Hockey WSOP Hockey coverage?" maybe then they will respond I hate tsn. |

Done, I cannot believe they won't televise the WSOP but will subject us to watching that ridiculously played Degree Poker Challenge freeroll. Give me a break.

[/ QUOTE ] I know they set up and sponsored that whole Degree Poker Challenge...but it is the worst poker I've ever seen on TV. The camerawork and editing and graphics are fine. But watching ass-clowns raise UTG with J8s isn't my idea of good watching. |

Re: Email TSN and tell them to put the 2005 WSOP back on TV!!!!
I and many of my poker playing friends tried to get into this tournament but couldn't get in. During the first round I spoke to a young girl who was on a break and about to return to the game. I asked her how she was doing and she said "awful, I don't play". Turns out she applied and got in on line but had NEVER played the game. So here were all the regular players I know sitting on the sidelines because they didn't get picked and nonplayers were in the game. Five minutes later I saw that girl with her boyfriend, out of the tournament. What a joke!
I am of course referring to the Degree Poker thing. |

[/ QUOTE ] I did not get picked by lottery for the degree tourney either, but made it to the casino the morning of the tournament as they were drawing 100 spots. I was lucky enough to get one of those out of about 600 people. I actually did make it through to a TV table, but was only on TV for 15 seconds as I busted quietly and wasn't making an ass of myself. Believe it or not, when you get past the first 1900 people down to the top 45, there were some better players including pros and semi-pros. A lot of the hands they actually showed on TSN were very poorly picked but there were indeed a couple of decent LAG's playing though you'd never know by the telecast. The commentating was garbage too. Overall TSN and Unilever (degree) really did a nice job of taking care of the TV players (hotel rooms, dinners, drinks, etc) and i'm surprised to hear complaints. Hell, i have 6 months of deodorant now! I'll definately do it next year if given the chance... way too much fun even if you don't cash (I didnt). |
