I sorta like Avril Lavigne
Don't ask me why. There's nothing really compelling about her music. The best explanation I can think of is that Alanis Morrisette got big when I was in high school, and I see some similarities between the two. AL doesn't seem quite nearly as bitter, though. She's really an "Alanis Light"
Basically, I think if I were in high school again, I'd probably listen to her music.

Oh man, I sort of draw the line when a person uses numbers to spell words in her songs. Didn't she have a song spelled as follows: Sk8ter Boi? Anyways, I can't rip on you b/c I actually liked a song by Britney Spears--Toxic.

I fully support liking this song. Plus the video is umm... arsty.

It was I think her first release, geared to get the teenie bopper crowd on board before her better music was released. This is an acceptable method used in the music biz. Remember, Christina Aguilera first released "Genie in a Bottle." She would later go on to sing "Dirty"

There's better catchy songs than that one. I just don't get why she felt the need to spell the word "boy" incorrectly. I mean fine, maybe I could see numbers making a word look cooler, but spelling a three letter word wrong is just stupid.
Also, to those who say she's hot, I completely disagree. She looks like a chihuahua. My buddies told me my ex looked like Avril, and I think that led to our breakup; what a huge insult.
