Serious problems with TP good kicker.
Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. MP1 posts a blind of $0.5. <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG+2 calls, MP1 (poster) calls, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Hero calls, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, BB calls. Flop: (10.50 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(5 players)</font> BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, BB folds, UTG folds, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls. Turn: (8.25 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font> UTG+2 checks, MP1 checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+2 raises</font>, MP1 calls, Hero calls. River: (14.25 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font> <font color="#CC3333">UTG+2 bets</font>, MP1 calls, Hero calls. I was glad when the original PF raiser folded but I hated getting C/R on the turn. I know thats never a good sign. Should I fold right on the turn? If I should call what about on the river, bad overcall? the pot was large. Final Pot: 17.25 BB |

I reraise preflop.
Everything else looks good to me. Calldown is good. |

Re: Serious problems with TP good kicker.
I dont think you are looking good here, no idea what UTG+2 has but i think you need to call this down. Mp1 padding the pot makes it a bit easier.

Re: Serious problems with TP good kicker.
Call is good, 3-bet if UTG is a loose raiser. Does no good 3-betting a TAG with AQs.
I'd say you play is fine. The pots too big for you to find a fold on the turn or river. |

Re: Serious problems with TP good kicker.
I'd 3-bet preflop.
You should definitely not fold after being check-raised. After the check-raise, you're getting 13:1 to call it. If you plan on taking your hand to the river you have effective odds of 14:2=7:1. So you either have to improve to the best hand or have the best hand unimproved by the river 1/8 ~= 13% of the time. You have 8 outs against any two-pair except one involving an ace, and 9 outs against A4. You will easily improve to the best hand at least 15% of the time, and there's a small chance you still have the best hand. So, for the reasons given above, I would call it down like you did. |

Re: Serious problems with TP good kicker.
Appreciate all the comments here are the results for the hand.
Final Pot: 17.25 BB Results in white below: UTG+2 has Jh Js (full house, jacks full of fours). MP1 has Ac Qh (two pair, aces and fours). Hero has As Qs (two pair, aces and fours). Outcome: UTG+2 wins 17.25 BB. </font> I appreciate all the advice. I thought about 3-betting preflop but original raiser had fairly tight preflop raise according to my Gametime#'s around 7% over 60 or 70 hands (not all on this table). Didn't think about folding at all PF. [Maybe i should have? I only have 3900 hands on Pokertracker. So I'm not sure on how strong an indication my data numbers are for laying down AQ against a tight PF raiser.] Either way I was glad when PF raiser dropped out the pot. Hindsight is 20/20 makes sense why UTG +2 didn't 3-bet preflop and then waited for the turn to C/R |

Re: Serious problems with TP good kicker.
I think you played it fine.
what can you do if callers hits two pair or calls with underpair and hits set? you have to call river IMO since its not entierly clear to me you're beat..and as you say..pot is BIG Brian |

I agree, because the pot was large.
