$11: my \"sneaky\" JJ in lvl 1
I just started 4-tabling (got a new monitor). I've been trying to push "smaller edges" blah blah blah. Mainly I just find it distracting to play hands that I might be able to take down pre-flop.
Given the smallish raise and the dead money created by the two weak calls, anybody take the same line? Or is this just absolutely unforgivable? I'm only behind 4 hands and there's t220 in dead chips if I can isolate heads up. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t15 (9 handed) converter SB (t680) BB (t785) UTG (t940) UTG+1 (t1660) Hero (t785) MP2 (t775) MP3 (t840) CO (t830) Button (t705) Preflop: Hero is MP1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG calls t15, UTG+1 calls t15, Hero calls t15, MP2 raises to t65, 5 folds, UTG calls t50, UTG+1 calls t50, Hero pushes. |

Looks just fine. I've grown out of limping JJ so I'd be raising it here, but I like it! I'm definitely pushing when it gets back to me after that action.

Meh. What are the chances you are facing two overs? I've done it. I've passed on it. My play nowadays is to call and see the flop. It's LVL1 and I can look for better spots later.
I don't fault the play though, I think it is +EV. |

Re: $11: my \"sneaky\" JJ in lvl 1
Edit: *Oh, shnap, just realized this was the 11s. Yeah, a push looks good here. I'll leave my earlier reasoning below for higher buyins.*
Marginal. Personally, I just play for set/overpair value with so many others interested. That's how you can really gather up some chips. That whole "I'm only behind 4 hands" is highly misleading, because you are *way* behind those hands, and only slightly ahead of the other hands that will call you (unless somebody's a total donk, which is possible). So, it's not outright bad, but I rarely do it. For whatever that's worth. |

I like it but don't be surprised if AK calls you here.

You haven't been playing against me then, I think I lost about 5 55/45's in a row today. Or more. I kinda stopped counting to be honest.
