Re: Paris Poker Room Opening Night
Huh...is it an actual "room"? Or a roped off area near slots? I thought they just announced this thing a month or so ago...can't believe it's open so soon...

Re: Paris Poker Room Opening Night
I have seen it. It's not really a room, basically they took out a blackjack pit and put in poker tables. While it might not really have "room" status, it's in a FANTASTIC location in the casino, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it does really well. Paris is a generally nice casino to be in, I have always liked it, but it didn't have poker... But now it does!
Talked to someone who's "in" there and they said this will be a "soft" opening to get the kinks out, get employees hired and shuffled around, get people used to the idea of paris having a poker room etc etc, you know, the kind of stuff all new rooms must go through when they first open. I suspect the usual kinks that happen in new rooms on opening day, but overall I'm quite hopeful Paris will fill an unfilled poker niche on that side of the strip. al |

No question there will be kinks, but in the long run I believe it'll be a successful room.

Re: Paris Poker Room Opening Night
So this room is in the main casino --- SLOTS OF FUN all around hummmmm-----no what I thuoght they would do ---
"Paris will fill an unfilled poker niche on that side of the strip." What NICHE is Paris looking to fill on this side of the strip? Are they looking to get some RED CHIP and higher games? Not trying to be a turd here but it sounds like a Bally's South room. Same set-up same games ------ |

Re: Paris Poker Room Opening Night
Personally, I love the Bally's setup. With the bar right there, the cocktail service is fast and frequent. The location pulls in casual players. And they added a flatscreen displya for the waitlist and shuffle machines.
If Paris offers a smiliar environment with 6/12, I'll be happy to play there. |

Re: Paris Poker Room Opening Night
Yeah, we were pretty surprised it would open so soon. The dealers thought opening night would be the 15th, but word came out yesterday.
It's pretty exciting to be opening a new room...from a dealer's perspective. |
