Rate the weakest game you know!
Hi folks!
As we all know, poker is about making money (except having fun of course) and the weaker the competition is the higher the prospects are. Would be interesting to hear you guys rate the weakest games you know about. Please include game, limits, casino, and what makes the game so juicy (passive, loose players, calling stations, hilarious bluffers, players don't know the game, drunk people etc.). Finally give it some sort of rating and what win average a decent player (like yourself) could excpect per hour. Looking forward to hear some almost-fairy-tales...! |

Casino Arizona 3/6
These games are just filled with the type of people SSHE is written about. Loose Passive doesn't begin to describe these folks. Actually most of the people are there for social reasons, so they are more concerned with having fun and watching the game on one of the big screens than playing poker. Basically it's a very soft game with lots of friendly people who don't care about a few hundred dollars. I've heard similar things about the 4/8 and 6/12 but I've never played them. |

Re: Rate the weakest game you know!
The 5-150 spread limit game a Casino Arizona.
The game has some good players, some damn good players in fact. But there are a fair number of total donks coming thru that play either a NL tournament style or stuck in limit mode. There is also a fair number of regulars that are more a kin to calling station than anything else. Friday and Saturday late are great too because of the drunk club folk coming by to donate the buy-ins. I can not give you an hourly rate, but I can tell you that it is not uncommon for the better regulars in the game to rack out 4+ racks of red for a session. My personal best is a little over 8 racks worth in a 10 hour session. Not bad considering the max buy-in is $350. |

Re: Rate the weakest game you know!
Casino Arizona's 5-150 was pretty darn weak! In 2.5 hrs there were 4 rebuys to the 350 limit. People would call a $30 raise with K5 Off. Completely crazy maniacs. Few people noticed me limping in and were more concerned with the games on TV. Man would I love to play here all the time, I can't see why a good player couldn't pull down a nice little income from this game.....
My home casino, Turning stone, in NY has fairly tight play on the lower limit games, so profitability is low. The 1-2 $100 max no limit hold'em game is pretty weak b/c there are a lot of college players who play under-rolled and are too tight pre-flop and overaggressive with drawing hands. |

[/ QUOTE ] This is a very accurate description of california NL games as well, but I would add that there is a small fraction (perhaps 5-8%) of players at the $100NL tables who have no idea what they are doing. They happily call all in with second pair or a GS. Often they misread the board. They call any preflop raise for any amount. There are quite a few NL 'pros' at these games who walk around seeking out these players, and then sit around with 7 other pros waiting for them to self-destruct. Not terribly interesting poker but potentially quite lucrative. |

Re: Rate the weakest game you know!
1/2 limit hold em at luxor.
I think they only run this game immediately following their 'poker lesson'. Then they dump everyone who took the lesson into this cheapie game. I don't think anyone actually paid attention to the lesson though. Honestly, imagine a bunch of people who have never played poker before (some of them may have never played cards before). People literally asking what beats what. Several people who see EVERY flop. I'm not kidding here. Because of the small stakes, you can't win a lot (and the pain of watching may be too much to bear -- but I don't think you'll find a weaker game than this anywhere. Hard to estimate the winning potential I only played this once. I think a soft 4-8 game is more profitable with less variance and rake is high relative to the pots. So, I guess 5 BB an hour or so may achievable. |
