Facing a flop push
I had just sat down at a 1/2 6max NL table. I had ~$300 from winning a nice pot some hands before this one:
I have 9c8c UTG and double the BB and everyone calls. the flop comes Jc9d5c and it's checked to me and i bet half the pot. The guy after me pushes with ~$220.. I don't really know anything about his play as I just sat down. So what do you think, call or fold? what hands can he possibly have that you push this flop with? 55? Ax clubs? And what do you think about my flop play? preflop is just to mix it up. thx bye |

Re: Facing a flop push
i bet atleast 3/4 the pot, but thats my standard flop bet when its heads up/3 handed. I think i fold here. Your pot odds suck and the possibiltiy of a higher flush draw is too high. Its possible he has AJ or Q10. But i you'll probably see a set or a better flush draw too often to call in this small pot.

Re: Facing a flop push
ya know, re thinking it what i said about being against a higher flush draw makes no sense because you beat a higher flush draw. But i still fold in a 20ish dollar pot. Pot odds way to small for it to be a profitable call imo.

Re: Facing a flop push
Easy fold with no read in a small pot.

Re: Facing a flop push
Thank you, I've been a lurker for a long time.
I did fold, but I felt very confused about his play and I couldn't put him on a hand really so it made me a bit irritated. |
