Big Bet home tournament ideas?
I wanted to run a tournament idea by you guys. I want a big bet format, either no limit or pot limit and a mix of games. I also want rebuys to spice up the prize pool, so I was thinking of making it a $10 entry with unlimited rebuys for the first 6 rounds or so.
Is it okay to mix a no-limit and pot limit format? Like a rotation game NL Hold Em/PL Omaha8? What about adding Stud in the mix? I've only played Stud in a limit format, would making it Pot Limit or No Limit be okay? I may make the starting chips a bit less than we normally start with, just to encourage rebuys for a bigger prize pool. Ideas? |

Re: Big Bet home tournament ideas?
We just did something like that. We played rotations of Hold'em, Omaha 8. Pineapple, and stud. Hold'em was NL, we played everything else limit. It went well and people had a good time. If we do it again I would just play Omaha and drop the HiLo. It was too time consuming for people that hadn't played it before. I also think pot limit will slow you down trying to figure out what a pot sized bet would be.

Also keep in mind that you are limited to 8 players at a table for stud.
I used the H.O.S.E blind structure from here http://www.homepokertourney.com/docs...NewEngland.pdf for all of the blinds and limits, but just played the hold'em as NL. |
