Default 10:20 Another QQ hand

10:20 No limit, everyone is deep stacked with at least $2,000 in front of them.

You hold the two black queens and its folded to you in
middle position. You open raise $100, and get two callers,
the player on your left and the button.

Flop comes K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

You are first to act. Do you bet out or check?

If you say check, what is your response to a bet
from either player?

I think the correct play is clearcut, but others disagree,
so I'm lookng for some discussion of this hand.

Suerte,
Jonathan

I don't understand what you mean....calling where?
You are first to act.....you can bet or check, calling
is not an option.

Do you mean calling oop is bad once you check and your
opponent(s) bet at you?

Please explain.

Jonathan

If you check you are giving up, if opponents bet the turn are they betting a k? a bluff? a pair? You don't know and can't call so you have to fold.

[/ QUOTE ]i see.

just bet 225ish and find out if anyone can beat AK... if you get action, youll prob have to give up on the pot without a killer read, but thats ok. i rarely check this flop.

of course it depends on the players. however, i usually bet this flop vs 2 callers. if both called with pocket pairs that missed, your best. and the K will scare people. i find that when i open with qq, jj, tt, aq, and a k flops, if i bet out i often take the pot. if your called, or raised your done. i think a bet when a K hits has a positive ev, now all the opponents who might have hoped you had ak preflop can not hope that you had A high. and now they know you have a high pair (not which one). if someone called flat with ak, aa, kk, 88 you will find out very quickly.
