4th step a joke?
I dunno, I'm gonna write to support and see if they will consider adjusting the step system. The $535 step seems like a joke, with 8 advancers and 2 refunds there just isn't enough poker to be played. It's way too survival-oriented and just torture to play. Thoughts?

Re: 4th step a joke?
If they are going to make any changes it should be to can the direct buy-in. This would be cool if there werent 7 sharks waiting for the 3 fish to get lucky and get caught in the undertoe sucked out to level 5.
The novelty will wear off if they never ever win anything. If the only way you could get to a level 5 was to work your way up I think these would be a lot more popular. Party basically just did a favor to ZeeJustin Gigabet and the other titanically nasty players at that level. Yea its great for them, but for the STEPS fad to last more than 2 weeks I think they have to level the field. I bet a lot more action would be had by average players who typically play $10 S+G's where they will get more rake overall than those who play strictly $10 S+G's. I have a feeling the target market Party is trying to cater to here was originally the lower guys looking to parlay some results, but instead they are just providing a feeding ground for greater players. |

What would you change it to? [/ QUOTE ] The step concept is moderately cool, but there should never be a step where only 10 people move back down. Step 4 is just torture to play, I'll only buy in at the $1000 from now on. I was thinking about what to change it to and came up with this: Leave Step 1 and Step 2 as is. Change Step 3 to to $320, and adjust the prize pool in step 2 accordingly. This makes a $6000 prize pool instead. Pay 5 $1065 seats, 2 $320 seats, and $75 (or fine, 1 $55 seat and $20). Eliminate Step 5. |

You can't leave step 2 the same if you increase the buy in of step 3. Step 2 only promotes 4 places as is. They would definitely need to up the buy in to accomodate.

For me, I think step 4 is the most profitable.
