I've been developing a tendency, especially after all the posts advocating intense bb defense, of defending my CO post with virtually any two cards(down to about 54o, when im stubborn), against unknowns, even UTG unknowns. Im wondering what the thoughts are on that. I never have any reads until i play a few hands, since GameTime doesn't have any simple facility for that. So is this standard? or No? As a side note, does most people fix reads before entering a table with software other than GameTimePlus?

i defend my cutoff post with 95% or so of my hands. i would muck stuff like 94o or worse, 43o or worse, everything else is a call for one bet. position is just too good. in a considerably tougher game it'd be better to fold significantly more hands, but also reraise many more hands youre going to play rather than flat call for meta game reasons. you get to be lag for a hand on the cheap, and make a nice confusing impression at a discount.
