whats the video card make and model. possible already built in the included software as most modern cards are set up for dual-screens.

It's an ATI Mobility Radeon X300. I have a 3200X1200 background but its showing up as two 1600X1200.

If, for some reason, you don't want ultramon...
you take the image and split it in photoshop or gimp. set each image as the desktop for each monitor. |

That won't work. If your image is 3200x1200, then just apply it as your desktop and then go to properties and set it to tile instead of stretch or center. If you have two images that are 1600x1200 each, you'll have to combine them into one 3200 image. |
