S+G etiquette
This situation came up twice this weekend and I was wondering what you guys would do, if anything.
PP S+G, three players left and I go all in on the button for about 2x the BB, In one instance SB takes awhile to act then calls after the BB says "call and we'll check him out of here". The other instance the BB says "just call", SB says "why" BB says "just do it", and they check it down. should I just forget about it or report them to PP. thanks, -Pete |

Re: S+G etiquette
Very clear cases of collusion.
I do not know whether PP means Party or Paradise (I don't think Planet runs SnGs), but any of those sites will without any doubt respond and treat both instances without blinking. Report the cases not only for your own benefit, but to protect the poker community against this kind of predators. Best, McMelchior (Johan) |

Re: S+G etiquette
Play on Stars where they disable chat after an all-in. That and their Support staff really does investigate possible instances of collusion. (I don't work for Stars, really -- I have just tried both Party and Stars and far prefer Stars IMHO)

Re: S+G etiquette
That is so true. While you might reap tons more on party due to the players there, Stars actually responds immediately, investigates, and disqualifies people they find have acted inappropriately. Again, it doesn't mean you can make more at Stars because of this, but it certainly makes the experience feel more like there's someone watching over the game for your benefit. 'course, my roi on there is about 2% after 120 $30 SNGs but hey.

Re: S+G etiquette
report the tournament # and hand #'s... party at the very least will disable their chat and send them a stern warning

Re: S+G etiquette
Thanks guys, I don't know why I didn't report it right away but I just looked up the hand historys and reported both cases.

Re: S+G etiquette
Can you please post PP's response to the collusion? I'm curious as to the outcome.
Good luck, Steve |

Re: S+G etiquette
I had a case of this one time late in a tourney all-in LP with JJ and one of the blinds has QQ. He says "I've got QQ" to the chat, and several players respond telling him to call. He does and I go out, but I e-mailed Party and got a fast response. They said they could not determine where I would have placed if the action had not happened, but they refunded my entry and "warned" the players that did it.

Re: S+G etiquette
I reported collusion a few months ago on something similar. This was my email:
[ QUOTE ] Dear Sir / Madam, During the play of Games 679530336 and 679532293 of a $10/$1 NL Holdem Tournament, player craigira attempted to use the chat box to plot strategy against another player. After player Glockey raised allin, craigira asked me if I would check and call for the rest of the hand in order to get Glockey out. This is a clear violation of the game rules, and craigira needs to be informed that such behavior is not acceptable. I have attached both the hand histories and a summary of the chat conversation. Please either revoke craigira's chat privlidges or sternly warn him not to use the chat box to collude against other players. Thank you, Andrew Nerney ***** Hand History for Game 679530336 ***** Player1 raises (380) to 380 Player1 is all-In. Player1: I"M ALL IN! Player2 folds. Hero calls (280) Player1: ..crap Player3: if i call will u check the whole way to try and get Player1 out, no offense Player1: none taking jerkass Player4: lol Hero: cant plot strategy in the chat box, dude Player2: get on with it Player3 folds. [/ QUOTE ] This was the response: [ QUOTE ] Dear Hero, We would like to thank you for bringing to our notice the inappropriate conversation in the game ID 679530336 for the player 'Player3'. This is definitely not acceptable, the chat feature is provided for players as an add on feature to better experience the action at our tables, but any misuse of this feature is not permitted. We discourage such activities on our site and hence have him requested him an explanation for the same. We have also issued him a warning and have further placed a block on his chat privileges. We keep all suspicious activities logged in a notes section on the account. If he repeats this action, we will have the details of the hand you were involved in as further evidence and will take more drastic action if necessary. Thank you, for bringing this to our attention and for your concern about integrity on our Card Room. Should you have any further questions, comments or concerns, please contact us through e-mail ot the Live Floor Person feature on our tables. Kindest regards, Francis Hamilton, Investigations Team [/ QUOTE ] |
