How\'s the 3/6 games in Biloxi???
I going there on the 27th...I know both the Grands spread this...any others in the area?
What's the tourist/local ratio in these games? Is the competition decent? Any and all advice, observations, suggestions appreciated. |

Grand in Biloxi and Gulfport, President(Silver Slipper), and Copa are your options unless you stay till July. New room opens July 1st at Palace. Dont waiste your time at Copa or President, just play the Grands. |

Re: How\'s the 3/6 games in Biloxi???
Then I was misinformed by the poker room manager at the President...I called last week to see what they had available, and she informed me that they did spread a 3/6 game at both the Grands...
So the 1-4-4-8 game is the lowest limit spread? I understand its essentially a 4/8 game...How's the competition there? And a couple of other questions: Where do you purchase your chips? Is there a runner? Whats the standard tip for the dealers and waitresses? Is it busy during the week? Again, any and all info appreciated... |

Re: How\'s the 3/6 games in Biloxi???
Went a month ago on a Sun. Mon. and Tue. to the Grand. No 3/6 game had 1-4-8-8 game, 10/20, and if I recall a 20/40. Seems like half the people at my table knew each other, and there were alot of young people 21-25. Game was somewhat loose 4-5 to the flop. Great jackpot type thing after 1 a.m. if pocket A's gets cracked you get $100!!

As always, anyone who wants to update PokerWiki with this info will have my gratitude. See http://poker.wikicities.com/wiki/Casino#Mississippi , but right now there's nothing there on the MS rooms.

Re: How\'s the 3/6 games in Biloxi???
The Biloxi Grand is tons better than the one in Gulfport, if for no other reason than the room is lots bigger.
Unless they've changed recently, the food comp policy at the Biloxi Grand is the best I've ever seen. Be sure to get a players card as you enter the casino, because you need that to get comped. Again, unless they've changed lately, they don't rate you, and if you're in the poker room and have a card, you can eat three squares for free every day. They have a seafood buffet every evening that's unbelievable, with among other things, huge wonderful boiled shrimp that you can eat until you founder, if you wish. The 1-4-8-8 games are very soft usually, but there can be variation from table to table. Most days they only spread 1-4-8-8 and 10-20, so the best players in the room are at 10-20, and some of them are very good players. You may find yourself at a table of players waiting for 10-20, especially on Sat. night. All in all, a really fun place. I no longer live near there, but I have wonderful memories of it. That's where I learned to play. Have fun! Wish I could be there! BTW, just buy in for "A rack of white" at first and see how it goes. If you bought $400, everybody in the joint would be keying on you. bill c |
