i dont know if turningstone allows it, but they will let you get away with it a few times before warning/kicking you out (i think).

I think this is an OK way to deal with players that are trying to angleshoot, but I perfer calling the hand dead.

Usually when I see a player trying to angleshoot it goes like this:
Angleshooter raises the turn and is called on the river by a new player. The angleshooter turns his cards over and says "Straight". Without thinking much the new player mucks.

Of couse the Angleshooter missed his straight and flush draw and really only has Q high.

In order to attract and retain new players, ALL cardrooms should enforce a rule that prevents players from calling their hand incorrectly.

If calling your hand incorrectly is "not allowed", is there some sort of penalty of some kind? How would this be enforced?

I have learned to simply ignore what players say they have and read the cards myself.

Hell yeah. Anyone who believes a player who declares what his hand is before seeing it and mucks is rather foolish IMHO.

In many/most rooms if a player calls their hand and their opponant mucks if they do not have at least the hand they called they lose the pot.

There are so many players who get called on the river and want to see the other person's cards first that I may have to start using this as some sort of angle or I will go insane. (run-on sentence)

I just stare blankly at them with a confused look on my face until the dealer has them show.

What is the prescribed order in which players show their hands - clockwise from the Small Blind, same as the betting order?
