Would you have called with KK?
1st round of a 2-table $10 buy in NL Hold Em Tournament on Party. Blinds are 10/15. I'm in the small blind with KK. Player in middle position makes it 60 - I raise to to 125 - he's the only caller. Flop comes Q-7-2. I bet 225, he goes all in. I'm thinking he's either on QQ or AQ. After much deliberation I fold because he has me covered, I think QQ is a strong possibility and I want to stick around in the tournament. Would you have called?

Re: Would you have called with KK?
You folded that in a $10 2-table tourney?
What flop do you want here? KK3? |

Re: Would you have called with KK?
I'd definately call man...
You folded because you think he had QQ? Sometimes it's almost as important to take opportunities when you probably have the best hand, as it is to 'preserve tournament life'. IMO Folding usually shortens your tournament life as well. |

Re: Would you have called with KK?
yea, that's an ultra-weak-tight fold. This is exactly what yo wanted to happen.

YOu are playing in a low buy-in event and villian's range probably includes hands like KQ. Just think how you would have played this hand. If you hit top set and had the preflop aggressor betting in to you, would you try to take him off his hand with this overbet? Of course not. I think you have to call. |
