Golden Nugget Moves Poker Room
The Golden Nugget (In Las Vegas) has moved into their new room.
They have gone from 20 tables to an 8 table room. The good news: 1) It's a much better location with lots of passing pedestrian traffic. 2) They still have great comps. 3) It's still non-smoking. The bad news: 1) The NOISE! It's in the open between the snack bar and the pit. It's also right beside a gazilion very popular & extremely noisy slot machines. They went from being the quietest room in town to being the noisiest. 2) Even though it's non-smoking, the way the poker area is situated, it's still a bit smoky at times. ***************************** Not sure if this will change but for now, they are a hold'em only room (ala Imperial Palace). Best Wishes Howard |

I am coming to Las Vegas the 29th and planned on hitting their AM tourney a few times. Is the tourney affected by the move? Thanks....

Re: Affect AM tourneys?
Hi Sparticus,
The morning tournaments have been "changed" I'm told. The way they work now....... Every morning at 11:00 am. $60 buy-in. Limit hold'em the first hour. Turns into no-limit hold'em after the first hour is up. If you're in town on a Wednesday, feel free to drop by the poker discussion group at the Shoe (2:00 pm in a cool room way in the back of the coffee shop). Have a great time in Vegas! Best of Luck Howard |

Re: Affect AM tourneys?
Thanks Howard. I will arrive late afternoon on the 29th, but I am staying 10 days so barring a Red Sox/Angels playoff series, I hope to hit the discussion group on the 6th.
I am seriously bummed about the Nugget tourneys changing. I like the overlay that unlimited rebuys gives me. Oh well, I may as well play the Mandalay or Luxor tourney as I heard they are the same format. I will probably try them all. Hope to get to meet you at the discussion group.... |

Re: Golden Nugget Moves Poker Room
Thats too bad. When I was in Vegas during the labor day long weekend I played a few tournies there. Both had nearly 150 players. Not sure if that was because of the long weekend but with 8 tables, I am sure it will sell out quickly.
