100/200, what\'s your flop play?
Bay 101.
5-handed 100/200. I sat down about 30 min ago, and the only hand I've showndown was a winner. I’m in the BB w/ 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG folds, CO raises (A fairly tight/straightforward player in full games, though I’m sure his range is wider here), Button folds, SB calls (Seems to be a decent player, only other thing I know is he plays a lot of tournaments), I call. Everyone ok with the preflop call? Flop: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB checks, I check, CO bets, SB raises, I ?? Comments so far? |

Folderson.
I think the preflop call is fine. |

Clear fold, especially since you're not closing the action.

Pardon my rudeness, but of all the hands you play, did you really think this hand is worthy of posting?

Pardon my rudeness, but of all the hands you play, did you really think this hand is worthy of posting? [/ QUOTE ] Ok, I guess this is an easy one, just wanted to double check. The reason I thought about it later was that, yes, in all likelyhood I'm behind, but getting about 5:1, if my flush outs are good I should continue. SB could very easily make that raise with just a pair. I know that drawing to the 4th nut is not normally a good idea, but wondered if in a shorthanded situation like this people would be more apt to continue with a pair and medium flush draw. Also, as NYplayer suggested, betting the flop could be considered. |

Re: 100/200, what\'s your flop play?
given the action i fold. I'd bet out on the flop though. Td, TT, JJ, and a Q are all hard pressed to call with the SB still to act behind.

Re: 100/200, what\'s your flop play?
I would also consider betting the flop. You may have the best hand and it's a scary board to somebody not holding a diamond. It's a clear fold with two bets cold back to you though.
I would defend here preflop like you did. Neither of these players has to have a premium hand here so seeing the flop getting 5:1 seems like a good idea to me. |

Re: 100/200, what\'s your flop play?
Why bet the flop? More often than not, it's just wasting a
bet with bottom pair and a near bottom diamond draw. Actually, I think this is a fold preflop. 98o just isn't good enough for a blind defense. |
