Mario Kart DS and Wi-Fi
Anybody have this game? I have always liked Mario Kart and hated portable systems, but I really want this. It has like 30 tracks and free built in multiplayer internet connection. Looks like fun.

Re: Mario Kart DS and Wi-Fi
I have a question though. Can I get it set up so I can connect online anywhere? Like when I'm at the casino or in the car?

Re: Mario Kart DS and Wi-Fi
even when the ds is doing better than the psp? I doubt a pricedrop, unless its coinciding with the revolution release.
it will detect a wifi connection and use it, so anywhere you wanna go. |

Re: Mario Kart DS and Wi-Fi
1) I have a DS. I have the game. I have not tried online yet. I hear it's stupid though, due to people disconnecting from races because they don't want a "loss" on their record. I'd still try it though, I'm sure not everyone's a jackass online.
2) You can't connect from anywhere. You need a wifi connection, like a wireless router, or Nintendo sells a wifi USB adapter, if you don't want to buy a wireless router. |

This is the best Mario Kart yet, and getting online is super easy. There is a DS - Maro Kart combo pack out now for ~$150 I think.

Re: Mario Kart DS and Wi-Fi
I've been playing MKDS online for about a week now and its very fun. The new levels are awesome but Nintendo chose some of the weakest old levels to add from SNES, N64 and gameboy advance versions. The multiplayer mode is limited though. You can only play with three other people and you can't chat. This is because Nintendo thought there would be many wee ones playing and they didn't want them exposed to swearing etc.
Also, there are players online who have ridiculous records. Something like 198-15 or whatever. The way these players achieve these scores is by "snaking." Snaking is where you go in a straight line and do power slides back and forth to get way ahead of the competition who are simply driving on straight aways. I've gotten pretty good at this game and I try to powerslide around every corner I can but I cannot get snaking. It is very hard. Anyway, anyone want to swap friend codes?
