In Washington Post this AM, there is storu about a home game in Fairfax, VA that was held up by two guys with shotguns.
Hosts had circulated invitations through evite.com and I guess invitations got to the wrong guys. According to story, thieves got about $5K. WashPost story |

So sending out a weekly email to 10-15 people with address and directions is bad?

No, not if they are people you know. Openly broadcasting it, or sending invites to unknowns is where trouble gets in.

Sending invitations to 300 folks is asking for trouble. People need to use their heads sometimes.
It's too bad it happened, and no one deserved it, but the hosts weren't too careful. |
