Sevendust
Anyone here fans of Sevendust? I was pretty into their self-entitled album when it came out & Home, but haven't really heard much from them since.
I did a search on Amazon and see they had an album that came out in October. Has anyone heard it and is it worth picking up? Anyone got any opinions in general about Sevendust? Here's some links to educate yourself on Sevendust if you don't know them. These are probably their 3 most famous songs (links are to videos) : Black Denial Waffle Album info on Amazon : Sevendust Home Animosity Seasons ~ No previews of tracks Next ~ Newest album There was also an acoustic album Southside Double-Wide ~ No previews of tracks Band Website : www.Sevendust.com Couple band pics : (I, myself was first shocked when I learned the lead singer was black) |

Re: Sevendust
The new album is definatly better than seasons, which kinda sucked, but isn't as good as the first two. Southside Double Wide is a really good cd.

Re: Sevendust
Ive seen them in concert a couple times, always a good show. I really like their music, but I just cant really seem to get into them because I really dont like the lead singers vocals. Havent heard the new album, the last one was pretty weak IMO.

Re: Sevendust
I haven't been patient enough to give any Sevendust CDs enough playtime for me to get a good feel for the entire album, but I can say that the first few songs (Hero, Ugly, and...Pieces?) of Next are very cool. I really liked the first four songs on Seasons as well.
This thread seems like a good place for my standard plug of Taproot's new album...it [censored] rocks. Is Killswitch Engage's singer black? He looks kinda dark (as much as Derek Jeter, maybe), but I can't really tell. He has a really amazing and versatile voice. I wish there were more rock bands with some black influences - there's some rap-rock fusion out there (and Limp Bizkit et. al is NOT rap-rock) I really like, such as Skindred (although they're all over the map with the kinds of music they combine), and POD's rock remix of Nappy Roots' "Awnah" is one of my favorite songs. There's a couple others as well that I can't think of off the top of my head. (second from left - Killswitch Engage's Howard Jones) |

Re: Sevendust
How about a great band with a black, bald, lesbian lead singer?
BTW, Sevendust rocks. And how has this thread gotten this far without anyone mentioning "Bitch"? Or is it just a filter thing? |

[/ QUOTE ] The only reason I didn't mention it is because the only video I found was of very poor quality. It was shot live and they also played the song different from what's on the album. Bitch is up there with the best. |

[/ QUOTE ] The Woodstock99 dvd has them playing "Bitch" live & sounds great. That's actually how I first got into Sevendust. |
