Kensington Turbo Mouse or Expert Mouse--I used to do corporate computer sales and these things flew out the door at $100 each all day long--very nice. One of the main things that contribute to the usability of trackballs is the size of the ball. This one is a monster.

There was another post on the forums last week about a remote control type mouse that you actually use like a pointer. If you read what I am talking about please post the link to it. I did a search but can not find it.

I didn't read all of the posts, but there seemed to be a lot about this in a thread started on 11-11, titled "just got my new CRT moniter and realized something while 4 tabling"
I hope this helps. |

I've used the Kensington turbo mouse for years and I love it, the size of the ball does make a huge difference as its very easy to move accurately with one or two fingers.
Recently, I've been playing alot more poker and I'm starting to experience some wrist pain; using the trackball in different positions helps but I'm looking for other alternatives. The mouse referenced in the thread last week is called Gyration. I checked one out at Circuit City this weekend and it seems pretty nice to use in the air, but I can't stand using a mouse on the desk. I'm still keeping my options open. Months ago, I saw a reference on 2+2 to some sort of high-end gamer's input device that looked like it wrapped around your hand somehow and had a control pad under the fingers (imagine a "wrist rocket" slingshot). It looked pretty cool and carpal/tunnel friendly but I can't find that thread again for the life of me. I'll search more and see what I can find. |

Here's the link for the Gyrating Mouse:
You can hold it in your hand - pretty cool! http://www.electroboard.com.au/produ...l.asp?ID=10989 |

I use the Logitech TrackMan Wheel trackball. It has solved my sore wrist problem! I also use the Microsoft ergonomic keyboard, which helped when I was doing a lot of typing. Online poker is a mostly mouse operation, so I had to get the trackball too.
My intention was to go to the store and try several, but the TrackMan is the only trackball that the local CompUSA had. The TrackMan has worked out well for me, but you might want to do some research, because all our hands are different. There are several trackball-type thingies that have lots of programable buttons and stuff--the one I have is pretty much the simplest and cheapest you can get. If I was getting another, I might get the wireless model (wireless is a bit of a pain with the batteries, etc. though). |
