Programming Language for Tournament Summary Review
Im going to be making a program that will review tournament summaries from various skins and be able to put them into a filterable database. This will also have a hand replayer.
Which language should I choose for this? Im a c++ programmer, so I know I cant use that, and I will have to learn a new one. Which Language will be best, and do you think it will be a challenge to learn from a completely c++ history. thank you for the input. |

Re: Programming Language for Tournament Summary Review
I would use perl for this - it was made for this type of job. If you want to get jiggy check out ruby, another strong text processing language that is actually pretty neat and pure OO.
why do you think you can't use c++? |

Take a look at wxWidgets. It's what I use for PA Hud and it's easy to use.

Re: Programming Language for Tournament Summary Review
I'll second perl. Perl was invented specifically to perform tasks like this.
