Default Chris Ferguson Versus Tuan Le

Chris gets a lot of air time and pub because of his degrees, championships, and smarts. But lately it seems that old guard players like Chris are getting run over by the likes of Tuan Le. We all know that Chris plays a solid game, but why does a Tuan Le win? There is no denying that Tuan is the ultimate player right now, but will that change? There has to be something in the game that shifted the advantage to players like Tuan and away from Chris. When I watch Tuan play it looks like wreckless abandon, but I know I'm wrong, I know I don't understand that aspect of the game and I wonder if a guy like Chris is miffed also? Any ideas, thoughts, or comments?

good post, smooth.

i've only seen tuan in the foxwoods tourny; but he's a guy, like hanson and DN, that will kill when he runs well. basically, he's a LAG. that style will bust you out or get you a mountain of chips. in a big field, it's seems a pretty decent strategy, if you aren't interested in sneaking into the money.

His style reminds me alot of Toto Leonidas' style. During US poker championship Helmuth said that Toto was TOO reckless. I think Tuan's is too reckless too. It's like either he will bust out early or go way high. Sorta like Hansen.

Last year it was Daniel. Now its Tuan..Next year it might be...who knows. Sometimes people "run good" for a long time.

Well, so far, this is about the best response I've seen. It's kinda interesting that most people don't have an answer. I guess that can be attributed to the randomness of the game not allowing us to extrapolate an answer. Maybe it is just a down cycle for Chris and a random up for Tuan? If so, then maybe the other thread calling Tuan the luckiest mofo alive is right, but I think our pro Temp Hutter would disagree with that statement. I wonder what Raymer would think? Are random cycles actually called luck?

Well, he can be both the luckiest player right now and also very good, can't he?
