Default Bankroll for Party $2k PLO

What size bankroll do you feel is appropriate to play the Party $2k PLO? I know in limit, 300x the BB is kind of a standard.

How about PL or NL?

From memories of previous threads on this subject something between 30 and 60 buy-ins. (or $2 million if you are Big Dave D )

Cheers

People recommend a 50k bankroll for 10/20 NLHE, so PLO should be as much if not more. PLO is swingier then HE and at that level I'd imagine the players are pretty good so you'll be forced to get your chips in a lot of the time on a draw or with a set against a draw, and when your running bad you can drop 10 buy ins pretty easily. I think at this level 25 is the minimum with 50 buy ins being a good #, so 100K, would be the number I would feel safe playing 10/20 PLO.

You would have to have a pretty good paying job just to replenish your bankroll at the $2000 PLO level.

This thread is now added to http://poker.wikicities.com/wiki/Bankroll , so next time someone asks you can point them there.

Bankrolls for other games not listed would be much appreciated; feel free to just go in and edit.

25 buy ins is $50,000. If you can't easily earn/get your hands on that size bankroll you shouldn't even be asking the question. For a 21 year old college student that may seem impossible for a 50 year old business owner it could be spare change. In keeping with the standard poker responce "it depends".

I'd want 150k if I was planning on setting up shop. But in reality I'd probably brave proctracted shots with 60k or even less because I'm stupid.

I don't think there's any problem taking a shot at a higher level if you were winning at a lower level, the problem with Omaha is that there is such a big jump, so its hard to take shots at the 2k game and recoup losses in the 200/400 games. If you are a winning 5/10 NL or up player I don't see any reason not to take a shot or two at the PLO game if you set some loss guidelines ahead of time
