Online poker from scratch
i've been playing online for a few months at Empire Poker (Party poker skin) and i've deposited the minimum $50 a handful of times, and cashed out with $50 once or twice when i got fed up with it. i played a variety of games ($5/$10 tourneys), some NL $25, some .5/1 and 1/2 limit. i notice that either i lose it all very quick or i maybe double it in a day or two then gradually lose it again, i've never been able to consistently make that stack grow. i realize $50 isn't much to work with, but i would rather not risk more right now. which sites do u guys recommend that have the best bonuses, and best games, and what kind of techniques or strategies should i use to make that $50 grow into a nice bankroll. i realize that my $50 bankroll was obviously not enough to support me playing the games i was playing, so please don't just state my obvious problem of playing over my limit. thank you guys (and girls if any ) in advance, and i really appreciate the help.

Re: Online poker from scratch
PokerStars has a lot of microlimit .01-.02 and up, and $1-3 tournys where $50 can last forever. It's not even raked.

Re: Online poker from scratch
with $50 I suggest you start at .25/.50, you can build your bankroll and move up to .5/1 when you hit $300. I've managed to turn my $50 into $450 in 3 months. Not a crazy amount, but you gotta start some where. I suggest Ultimatebet.com, they have the best interface and the .25/.5 games are really soft.

I agree with pokerstars. The interface leaves something to be desired but I think its the best place for somebody that wants to improve their game. You don't need to buy any extra software because it keeps stats for you automatically.

Re: Online poker from scratch
I would second (or third, or whatever) the PokerStars recommendation for the following reasons.
1) They have tiny limits. I believe they go as low as 2 cent/4 cent 2) They have very low cost tournaments. They have one, two, and three dollar multi table tournaments with no vig and they have one dollar five table SnGs that play only slightly tighter than play money games. 3) You won't be giving up any future rakeback because Stars doesn't do that. |

Re: Online poker from scratch
I also didn't want to risk too much money when i started playing (also very recently) so i made myself a bankroll with casino whoring. It worked very well. I would have never believed it is so easy to get free money. You can also try to optimize the bonusses you can get from the poker sites. Just deposit to get the reload bonus, cashout again when you have them and do the same thing again next month.

[/ QUOTE ] what exactly are you doing to whore the casinos, and don't you also have to play a certain number of raked hands to unlock the bonus. which sites have the best bonuses and are safe to deposit and cashout from promptly. also on another note someone said the ultimate bet interface is the best....i think it's horrible, cheaply made, and annoying. which sites do you guys think have the best interface??? thanks again for the responses! |
