Figured you fiends would have asked already, hence the post

I e-mailed. Heres's the answer, for anyone that cares:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding WSOP satellites at PokerStars.
We're proud to be the home of the WSOP champion for two years running,
and we're glad you're excited for the same opportunity!

Last year, we began running satellites for the WSOP in late February.
We expect that we will begin satellites for the 2005 WSOP around the
same time this year. However, as the WSOP has a later start date this
year, it is possible that satellites would be pushed back
correspondingly.

My wife was playing blackjack with PokerStars' marketing director last week at the Rio. No news on when they'd start, but there will apparently be 600 spots available to Stars qualifiers.

Holy crap!

That's a World Series Of Pokerstars.

Pretty soon it's going to take the best part of a year to finish the wsop.

Is anyone taking action on the number of entrants?

Can you wrap your brain around a tournament with five thousand players?

I'm figuring over 6000 myself, with $10 million to the winner.

I hate to guess those numbers two years from now. Anyone want to play poker for two weeks, fifteen hours a day?

Default I Have a Better Question

Why would anyone want to carve out a week of their life to play in the WSOP Main Event anymore?

I would MUCH rather see satellites to the other events at the WSOP.
