Pocket Jacks in a big 3-way pot....
Ok so this was in a 25NL game with some pretty crazy players. They were very aggressive and calling with very weak hands. I was fairing well by just playing pretty tight and then this hand came around. How do you think I played this? What should I have done differently?

Re: Pocket Jacks in a big 3-way pot....
if stacks are this deep, I like raising more preflop.
you should be wary of putting in money post flop though. and when stacks are this deep, you should play looser preflop and tighter postflop. |

Re: Pocket Jacks in a big 3-way pot....
I think if you can't call the remaining 50 here getting 5:1 on your money then you should probably just fold the flop - if the game is really crazy you have considerably more than 20% equity against their combined range of hands - I would guess they have a smaller overpair and a nut flush draw between them. A set is possible but I don't think you see a set often enough to fold here

How can you fold once you made that huge raise and got 2 calls....you have to call like 30 bucks to win 250.....how can you fold here against a couple of maniacs?

Results
Villian One shows [ 5s, 6s ] a straight, three to seven.
Villian Two shows [ Qh, 7h ] two pairs, queens and sevens. I don't know I guess I didn't play it to great I wanted to get at least one of them out with the raise but when I saw I didn't I just decided to get out. |

Re: Pocket Jacks in a big 3-way pot....
Generally speaking, you don't want to be going broke with a with just an overpair.
I know this sounds amazingly weak-tight, but I may just fold the flop. After donk a donkbets the pot, and 2 people cold call that, if you still have the best hand here, you are NOT much ahead at all. I think the raise was terrible. Name a single turn card that doesn't scare you to some extent? I guess the 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]maybe, or a Jack, but almost every card in the deck hurts your hand significantly. If these people are really that much of donks, I may call the flop. But again, I really don't want to be gambling for my stack against 3 people with just an overpair.... or at least on that board I don't. |

I thought I could get them to fold their draws, I guess I couldn't have been more wrong.
