I've played about 13000 hands of 20/40 over the past few months. I feel like I consistently run bad and consistently lose all the big pots to 2, 3, and 5 outers on the turn and river. Obviously, this partially is due to some sort of selection bias. I also feel like every time I deviate from ABC poker it bites me in the ass e.g. every time I give a free card by checking behind on the turn or by going for a c/r, it costs me the pot. Hopefully, my sample size is just small and I will turn this thing around, but I am worried I am just fooling myself into thinking I am one of the better players. I notice my opponenets making mistake after mistake...They chase gutshots on the turn in small pots, their preflop play is way too loose, they cap ten high flush draws heads up with 2 overcards to their ten, blah, blah, blah. I probably just don't recognize all the mistakes that I am making (mostly postflop, I'm sure). Anyway, here are my stats. Most of these hands are between 6-10 players (Average players per hand is 7.2). I usually sit at tables with 5 or 6 people and they end up filling up. All comments welcome. Or if you play in the 20/40 lately, maybe I could PM you my screen name and you can tell me why I suck. Thanks.

Go through your histories they will be a better clue as to what is going wrong. Exchange histories with friends and see what others say. A screenshot is not enought, but keep in mind you admit you have made mistakes so there may be more to it than what we see. Also 13K is not enough long way to go....

I don't what it would take to convince you that your run is well within the ranges of normal fluctuations for this many hands. As mikei stated, very small number of hands to draw a lot of conclusions.

you are playing to loose. [/ QUOTE ] That depends on whether he's playing a lot of shorthanded tables or not. |

you are playing to loose. [/ QUOTE ] I doubt that is the problem: [ QUOTE ] (Average players per hand is 7.2) [/ QUOTE ] I believe much more likely is, as was suggested, is that you've just been running really bad. Certainly not impossible to run like that even if you're a 2 BB/100 player. Just make sure not to tilt (even microtilt) when you keep getting horrible luck. can be tough at times, but definately makes a pretty big difference in long term results. |

Yes, the BB # seems particularly bad. I think I will post some hands out of the blinds to try to solve this issue. I know I call way too much on the river. It's just that I see so many people chase their gutshots and ace highs that I can't give them credit for anything most of the time.
