did i give up too soon?
i think i did the right thing here... i insta-folded the flop without any serious thought.
is this standard or should i put a raise in and find out if my hands good or not? Re: did i give up too soon?
Because SB only 3bets AA/KK/QQ/AK? Vs. me, this is a good fold. What are SB's sats?
edit: Standard 3bet PF in SB is, I think, AA-JJ, AKs/o, AQo. Vs. that range, this is clearly a fold, particularily with the field left to act. |

Re: did i give up too soon?
yeah i shouldnt have forgotten to post SBs stats. they were respectable... coupled with the fact it was a 5 way pot and he was SB i had to give him even more respect.
and a loose table overall ... no one was folding to a cap and there was plenty of calling down. |

Re: did i give up too soon?
at a typical loose table like this, im never gonna cap this out of position, never. no one who called two bets cold is folding for two more... especially in this big multiway pot.
i think keeping the pot smaller (its already plenty big) actually does make JJ OOP a lot easier to play postflop. the amount of time im already behind preflop (QQ etc)... plus the number of possible coinflip hands out there (KQ etc)... plus the fact that theres 5 people in this pot makes me think i dont have enough equity to put in a cap here. does anyone disagree with that logic? |

SB had QQ... ended up betting entire way through hand
LP coldcaller showed KQs... called down and won i think just the sheer number of people in this hand was the biggest factor in my folding so quickly. its one of those situations where i end up feeling sort of silly for saying to myself "out of all these coldcallers... theres got to be at least one K out there". sort of odd hand i guess. |
