Hero has $225, and has SB covered. No read on villain except that he likes to buy in for minimum ($100), just was just busted with KK in a raised pot by AQ.
3 Limps to Hero on the button Hero raises to $30 with 10/10 SB (villain) pushes for a total of $100 Folded back to villain: Call or fold? I would really like to have a discussion on how you play a hand like this with agaist a short stack push. |

Call. What were you expecting? That's a terrible raise preflop. Just raise to $15-20 to try to manage pot size and pressure blinds.

I think OP is just following 4bb+1bb rule.
I don't think preflop raise was out of line. |

omg somehow I read 'three limps to me on the BN' as 'folded to me on the BN'. Damnit. I retract my comment. But still call.

I completly disagree that the raise was terrible. I think I am ahead, and I would prefer to limit the amount of callers. I should either limp or raise the way I did, raising to $15 or $20 will encourage everyone to call. I would also raise this much in postion with a variety of other hands if you care.
Didn't see your later post. (Edit) |

in the KK hand, did villian raise p/f or call a raise?

Since the cap is so small i might recommend a call here where in a 100BB game i wouldnt. how big are the other stacks, typically in games like this I am willing to push some small edges early on to build a stack. Not to mention you are getting 2:1 on your money.
POOOOSH, i hope u beat his AJ -Falker |

I reluctantly called, I don't really see how I can fold. He had KK, and it held up. Hands like this is why it is so annoying playing against short stacks. I feel like I get nickel and dimed by these type of players. The one funny thing about the hand was that the opponent looked disappointed that I called (giving be false hope for about 2 seconds), I think he was initially worried that I had an ace. I guess he would rather have the $40 and instead of $110 and giving me 2 or 3 outs to catch (lol).
