Re: A-rag in a tough spot
To be honest, I think I'd be more inclined to just c/f the turn. I suspect you're ahead here so very rarely that the bet/fold is just a waste of a BB.

[/ QUOTE ] Pardon my newbie-ness but doesn't BB mean wither Big Blind or Big Bet depending on context. I cannot see how Big Blind would apply so that leaves Big Bet. As we are talking about betting the flop it is only a Small Bet, right? I am not trying to be smart or anything, (and I may be looking dumb asking about this! ) I am just still in the process of understanding the jargon used on this forum so I can get the most out of it. Any aids to my understanding appreciated. -Jim |

You're right, sorry. I got so wrapped up in all the talk about flop I missed the change to turn. I think that's called target fixation.

why did you bet the flop? [/ QUOTE ] So the PFR would blow away the field with hands like KK/JJ/KQ. If he can get another A that's chopping with/beating me to fold, that rules. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not either, but lots of players even with good stats seem to think it's "weak" to call or fold with those hands. |

[/ QUOTE ] Okay let's just assume that this is true. Well then why did you bet the turn? You now lose to KK, KQ, JJ and anything that had you beat on the flop. You should check/fold the turn yet decide to bet again. What gives here? |
