I liked him at first until I realized he has no idea what he's talking about. Although, compared to Chad, he's a f***ing genius. |

Re: Greenstein on Moneymaker and Pokersuperstars
Fine. Moneymaker is a compelety better player today than 2 years ago. I really hope so, since he's had 2 years playing with the best players in the world.
This doesn't change the fact that he was insanely lucky to win it and gives hope to average joes that one day they could be champions. |

[/ QUOTE ] I am sure Moneymaker's game is much more polished than when he won. From what I can tell from Moneymaker's book, the TV version, and reports, Moneymaker did not play well as far as starting hands, standard plays, etc. However, he made some excellent calls and bluffs. Someone who plays aggressively and makes good reads, but doesn't play in a standard way, could be a difficult opponent. Obviously, he did get insanely lucky, as did anyone who won such a big tournament. However, you also need a little bit of ability. |

I'd like to know how he was insanely lucky to win it. [/ QUOTE ] Two key hands off the top of my head (can't recall the exact details but I DO know he sucked out big time): -Rivering a higher boat (Qs full of As) to Ivey's boat (9s full of Qs) -Turning or rivering a set of 8s against Brenes' AA Can someone confirm these and please add to the list? |

Re: Greenstein on Moneymaker and Pokersuperstars
The Ivey hand has been discussed to death. Ivey hit a 2-outer on the turn to take the lead against MM's trip queens; MM then hit one of his 7 outs on the river to re-suck out. It's absurd to say that Moneymaker was "insanely" lucky on this hand.

Calling someone [ QUOTE ] insanely lucky [/ QUOTE ]on the basis of broadcasted hands from the WSOP would be like calling someone [ QUOTE ] insanely accurate [/ QUOTE ] because of 1000 darts they threw simultaneously, one hit the bullseye. |

So I'm gonna need a lot more than that. |
