My first $1k+ hand
Oceans 11 $200NL game. I have $900 and running/playing well, two people have me covered. One of them is a young kid who is playing like a complete [censored] and has given me about $500 since I sat down. I made one bluff, he picked it off for about $75 pot and talked [censored] for an hour, until this came up: (I have never played a pot for >$1K yet)
He raises UTG to something, another limper, I make it $75 with red KK. He calls, limper folds. Flop ($175 ish): K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6x2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]; He bets $50, I raise to $250, he pushes quickly, I call. He says "I guess you don't have Aces then, eh?" I show my hand, he says "thats what I was trying to represent." He shows 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9x Turn and river are spades. $1800 for him. I leave immediately and don't say a word. -Jihad |

Re: My first $1k+ hand
I thought only Party, Stars and Paradise were rigged.
I guess Oceans 11, Sycuan and Viejas are rigged too :[ The devil is here! |

[/ QUOTE ] Funny you mention it, I did too I could have included; I waited outside for him for 6 hours in 40 degree weather. When he came out, I crushed his eyesocket and stole his (my) money. I had become dehydrated in my wait, but in anticipation of the moment had stored about 3/4 L of my piss in a gatorade bottle, which I made him drink. Is that a brag post? |

Re: My first $1k+ hand
jihad,
maybe you ascribe to the same general rules i do. one of them is The Second Law of Big Pots: before one can ever win a pot of X size, one must lose a pot of X size; often to a bad beat. |

Re: My first $1k+ hand
I subscribed to that rule about, um, 4 seconds after this hand happened. I figure I'm do now. There's no way that can happen again
