$5 PS. How scary can I be?

I have a few notes on villain. When he just calls a PFR (which he does a lot), he very frequently minbets the flop. I saw him min bet-min bet-min bet with a crappy turned 3rd pair, so my assumption is he min-bets most flops, then min-bets turn and river as blockers. He's unsophisticated, because he does a lot of open-limping in the CO/BTN and minraising everywhere. I've stolen the blinds twice in the past orbit. Thoughts? Assuming I decide to try to win the pot, is this the best way to go about it? What range is a typical so-so player calling with on the river? |

Re: $5 PS. How scary can I be?
he's probably looking you up w/ any ace or better and maybe a queen because he's put so much in the pot. Have you ever seen him slow down on the turn and then do a blocker bet on the river? And when he improves how does he extract chips? Is he a checkraiser or will he lead into you and if he does is it a min bet? I think your fold equity here is pretty bad since there are no real draws present and after slowing down and then starting up on the river my first instinct tells me he has QJ.

Re: $5 PS. How scary can I be?
He's been calling, minraiseing and limping a lot pf. For this hand, I would put him on any two broadway, and any ace.
I dont think he calls those two strikes on the flop and turn without an ace or queen. IMO, you are trying too hard to get a fold and there have to be better spots than this. By the river, he has already called off half his stack. I think whatever he was calling with on the flop and turn, he calls on the river. |

Re: $5 PS. How scary can I be?
Just because you have a big stack, doesn't mean you need to be a LAG and steal/raise everyhing. Fold preflop, this is a mess.

Re: $5 PS. How scary can I be?
mess is a gross understatement.
villain is obviously a fishy calling station, as evidenced by his 800 blocking bet into a 50000k pot on the river. these players are all over the lower limits on Stars: he has 7A or QA, and if your stacks were ten times as deep, he still wouldn't be folding. |

Re: $5 PS. How scary can I be?
If you even wonder how the super donk calling station's get big stacks this is a good example. People like you just give him chips trying to push him off hands. It seems like you're just trying to make a move for the sake of move making here. Just fold preflop. You've stolen the blinds twice already this orbit? They're not believing anything now, especially at a $5 tourney.
