Two hands - 600 NL 6 Max - Line Ck
Villain is the reason that I am at this table, makes post oak bluffs and will call a ton of raises out of the small blind. He will fold to aggression (raises) but will usually call down if he has a pair.
Onto the hands: Hero (~1500) Villain (~1450) Hero is dealt J/Q of diamonds on the button. Open raise to 18. VIllain calls in the BB. Flop (~40): T/5/6 all diamonds. Cked to hero, I bet 30. I have been CBing nearly 90% of all pots that I raise. Villain calls. Turne (100): 4c. Villain cks, I bet 80, he miniraises to 160, I raise to 500. He calls. River (1100): Ks, I have 900ish left, so does villain. He cks and I bet 650. 2nd Hand: Hero (~1000) Villain BB (~1500) EP makes it 20 to go UTG, MP calls, I call on the button with (8/6o). Villain calls in the BB. Flop (~80): T/8/6 all spades. Cked to me, I bet 75. Only villain calls in the BB. Turn ( ~230): 2h. Villain bets 100, I call. River (~430): Kh, Villain bets 50. I call. What do you think? Thanks in advance. |

Hand 1, the bet amount on the river is a bit weird. Does he fold to an allin a lot? I would say either push or bet smaller. The rest of the streets are good.
Hand 2, 86o is crap, just fold preflop. Flop, fine. How about a turn minraise? Fold if he comes over the top, and check the river behind if he calls. |

Why minraise? I have yet to understand the benefit of this play.

Minraise is for pot control. He won't reraise or bet river unless he has you beat.

I like hand 1, pushing on river is superior though.
Hand 2 id fold preflop, and raise the turn, maybe to 250-300 and check behind all rivers that dont fill you up if he calls. If he 3 bets, easy fold. |

Re: Two hands - 600 NL 6 Max - Line Ck
Hand 1: He could very well have flopped trips or a flush himself. Makes sense for him to call your raise with suited cards from the BB or a pair. He could have been slowplaying the flop and trying to trap on the turn with his set or a flush himself. I would value bet the river for $300
Hand 2: I like how you handled this hand. I would have called it down. Only hand youre worried about is flopped trips or a flush. |

I appreciate all the responses.
In hand 1, villain folded to my bet. I see that pushing is now far superior since if the villain would have called my bet he would also call a push. He might have called a value bet there but I think that pushing is better. In hand 2, villain showed A/T with the Ace of spades. So a miniraise on the turn as creed suggested would have gotten a more value. |
