Online Propping Pros vs. Cons?
I really don't remember any discussion in this forum on "propping". Is this a realistic "addition" to our playing online. (ie. bonus, rakes, ...)? Any constructive input is appreciated.
Thanks. |

Re: Online Propping Pros vs. Cons?
Most propping deals will be 100-110% rakeback, and you don't get to select the tables. A nice way to subsidize learning to play without always having big fish around, but not amazingly profitable by any means.

Re: Online Propping Pros vs. Cons?
What kind of roll do you need? I remember I was going to try it last summer and I backed off when I saw the site that I was going to play at. It was a ghost town with no consistent action. In one instance I could have been propping a 1/2 game then a 5/10?

I remember seeing some links to sites having prop deals. Does anybody have some links to prop deals?

Re: Online Propping Pros vs. Cons?
You usually have to play multiple tables and play at short tables. When tables get full you go start a new one etc.

Re: Online Propping Pros vs. Cons?
Pros
Guaranteed paycheck Sharpen short handed skills Learn how to beat TAG games Work a job whenever you want (in most cases) Cons Play mostly tough, tight short handed games Have to move when told by manager Often times cant play full tables Not allowed most site promotions Anyone who can master being a prop can crush almost any big site's 5/10-10/20 6 max. It also helps SNG players play better when tourneys get short handed IMO. |

Re: Online Propping Pros vs. Cons?
the biggest con of being a prop is the fact that only smaller sites use them and as such most of the time u are just playing other props. Not all props are good though, most are weak tight...they are easy to beat but they make the games lame. So its a good deal if u are better than the other guys, if not, your life at the tables will be hell.

Re: Online Propping Pros vs. Cons?
I tried propping, but I didn't have experience playing shorthanded against good players, so I got murdered. If you are good at playing shorthanded, then propping can be great.
