Calling the flop with air
This is not a play I attempt very often, but I'd obviously like to use it a little more when deepstacked.
Am I generally better off going for the turn checkraise or betting out? Re: Calling the flop with air
Check/raise is much scarier than a donkbet.

Re: Calling the flop with air
I just prefer leading out on the flop. Leading out will only cost you t3000 to t4000, while calling the flop and leading the turn will cost you anywhere from t10000 to t14000 when you are wrong. A check-raise will be even more costly. Just leading the flop saves you money when the Button does wake up with a hand.
That is if you are going to check-fold if you get called. If you plan on firing a second barrel, it will cost you almost exactly the same, so it wont matter which option you chose. IMO, 1.) Lead out on flop 2.) Call flop and lead turn 3.) Call flop and check-raise turn |

Re: Calling the flop with air
The CR will be higher risk/reward but leading out on the flop will give you enough chips to take the table lead. No need to risk a significant portion of your stack here just for a bigger gap lead IMO. After taking the table lead the chip value begins to diminish.

Re: Calling the flop with air
I very very rarely do this out of position. I'm way more likely to take a card off with nothig in position to see what my opponent does on the turn than I am when I have to speak first on the turn and river.
