Re: Raise the Flop or Wait for the Turn?
If we wait we can face most of the field with about 15:2, which is stil good enough to get some protection value. I'd probably wait.

Re: Raise the Flop or Wait for the Turn?
We're not giving any free cards here regardless. Opponents will need to call a bet anyways, and giving them 25:2 instead of 25:1 on the flop isn't changing much. Either way, it's still going to be a 'cheap' card for those drawing.

Re: Raise the Flop or Wait for the Turn?
What do you really think you can protect your hand against waiting till the turn? This pot is huge anyone with a piece is calling and anyone with a real draw will be correct to call two cold on the turn. Raise the flop there is a chance you can fold out an ace or single heart. Basically you want to fold out any hand that is very weak on the flop but could possibly pick up a draw on the turn. Waiting to raise here is terrible and the SB very well may check the turn.

the SB very well may check the turn. [/ QUOTE ] But SB just led into the PF-capper. Don't you think it's likely he's got some sort of piece that's good enough to bet the turn with? |

[/ QUOTE ] There are plenty of cards that could come on the turn that the SB would check. He is TAG he could be betting a flush draw with overs, top pair, jacks any sort of hand he doesn't want checked through or that he might hope the BB raises with to help protect his hand. If he has a set I would also like to find out sooner rather than later. IMO failing to raise the flop is failing to protect our hand. |

Re: Raise the Flop or Wait for the Turn?
Raise now because a:
a) the pre-flop 3-bettor just called SBs bet and we probably have the best hand b) make them pay to draw. c) make them fold incorrectly. Also, if the pot is raised behind us on the flop, that basically ruins our chance to protect our hand by raising the turn. |
