Why not? You think he was a total lucksack to battle through 5000+ people?
If you think you're better than him, go out there and do it. |

Re: Steve Dannenman-3rd in chips after Day 1 at Borgata??
I met Steve and had a few brews with him this past weekend. He told me when the blinds were 3k-6k (this is at the WSOP) he had 200k or so in chips. He figured he wouldn't win anyway but was very happy to make the money so he ordered a drink....then another....then another. Soon he was super drunk AND with 4 million in chips. Go figure.
When we were in the 2nd to last super on Sunday (in which we both won a seat) I noticed that his play was somewhat irregular but I think he reads pretty well. He tended to make some weird preflop and river calls that most might think twice about. ~stephen |

Why not? You think he was a total lucksack to battle through 5000+ people? [/ QUOTE ] That's exactly what a lot of posters here think. If they put their chips into the pot just a couple times with the worst of it and win, the get the luckbox label. Hell, a guy could be the smallest stack at the WSOP final table, make an incredible comeback to win the thing, and people would still call him a luckbox if he played a few speculative hands. [ QUOTE ] If you think you're better than him, go out there and do it. [/ QUOTE ] Well, I'm sure they've won a few Party SNGs. Isn't that enough? |

Re: Steve Dannenman-3rd in chips after Day 1 at Borgata??
Dannenman's got what a lot of poker players don't: humility. He knew going into the late stages of the tournament he was going to be outmatched postflop, and adjusted his game accordingly.
