Whose play is worse?
My push or villain's call? PP 22 Comments on each action welcome.
Blinds 50-100 UTG (HERO) ( $890 ) dealt KsQs, I raise all-in UTG+1 ( $1685 ) UTG+2 ( $1395 ) CO ( $820 ) Button( $1210 ) SB (765) BB (1235) BB called with 88. What is your play with KQs, UTG here? |

Re: Whose play is worse?
The open-push seems fine. Only other way to play KQs at this stage is to muck it. The call doesn't seem terrible either mostly because he closes the action.

Re: Whose play is worse?
Unless blinds are going up very soon, I don't like the push.
Hate the call, obviously. |

Unless blinds are going up very soon, I don't like the push. [/ QUOTE ] Agree. The blinds aren't really worth stealing and if you get a call you're almost certainly a dog. [ QUOTE ] Hate the call, obviously. [/ QUOTE ] I don't mind the call. Based on the size of the raise I wouldn't suspect the pusher has AA,KK,or QQ, so 99,TT,JJ are the only hands I'm not favored against and I think there is a strong possibility that pusher has a lower pp. Also, I'm getting 1.2/1 in chip value. I probably don't make this call but I don't think it's unreasonable, particularly for a player that feels he needs to gamble a little bit to win. |

I would fold KQs here. |

Re: Whose play is worse?
I don't like the push, and I don't like the call, but with the right reads, both are somewhat reasonable.
Edit: Basically, both suck, but you can call 88 against a maniac, and you can push KQs at a tight table. |

Re: Whose play is worse?
Yeah, I think this is a fold. 20+2 tables will rarely be tight enough for this to be +EV. I don't think it's terrible though, especially if the blinds are going up next hand. As for the call, I'm not really a fan, but it's far from the worst call I've seen at this buy-in.
