River Play
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (7 handed) converter
SB ($34.15) BB ($103.10) Hero ($100) MP1 ($21.55) MP2 ($116.85) CO ($95.50) Button ($36.25) Preflop: Hero is UTG with 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Hero calls $1, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, CO calls $1, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, SB completes, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises to $3</font>, Hero calls $2, CO calls $2, SB folds. Turn: ($25) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font> <font color="#CC3333">BB bets $10</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $35</font>, CO calls $35, BB calls $25. River: ($130) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font> BB checks Who bets? Who check/calls? Who check/folds? I think that I am more likely than not to be beaten by the turn cold caller. I had less than twenty hands on him at the time and hadn't played any pots with him, but the average $100 NL player has a better set or a straight there, in my opinion. And off-topic, anyone think I should have raised the flop? |

Re: River Play
I think you are being results oriented.

Re: River Play
[ QUOTE ]
anyone think I should have raised the flop? [/ QUOTE ] I personally plays sets and big pairs pretty quick, and so yes, I would have raised the flop. On the river, that's tough.... it would be an easy push if you had more of your stack in the middle (or a smaller stack), but that being said I would probably check with the intention of calling something from the CO. If the CO pushes.... I'd still probably call. BB smells like AK, so I wouldn't be worried about that. And I can't imagine what CO would call a raise PF with _and_ call a bet on the flop with that would make him a straight. |
