My first ever hand of stud poker.
I accidentally entered the $7,000 guarantee tournament tonight, and didn't realize it until the very first hand I was dealt. I have watched stud on TV, but really never took the time to learn the game.
I was honestly waiting for a flop after I had my first few cards. Sure I know better, but that doesn't mean that I wasn't surprised. I will say that I didn't understand the bring-in until the 3rd level. I made two pair on my first hand, and won a big pot....things have gone well since then. This really is a refreshing change of pace, and may serve to open brand new poker horizons for me. It doesn't hurt to make a few good hands. Now I understand what you are all doing over here. And all this time I thought it was a boring game for grandpas. |

Re: My first ever hand of stud poker.
I ended up 8th out of 424 entrants. I was chip leader several times, but was by far the short stack by the time I got to the final table.
I laid some nasty bad beats, and I took some horrible bad beats. As it should be. Now maybe that chapter in Super System might be a little more interesting. |
