I have 5k and 56s, blinds are 100/200. 2 people limp, I limp behind and button goes all-in for 1200. Blinds and limpers fold. 1000 to me with 2100 in the pot. I call. This is boring, but its a good example of not folding in all-in situations getting 2:1 or better. Its not just about getting reraised preflop.

How small does your stack have to be to a) just fold pre-flop; and b) fold when the action gets back to you.

preflop probably about 15 BBs given that im limping behind (which decreases the chances it will get raised behind me). As for folding when it gets back to me. Its 5 BBs for me to call, so I'd probably fold with about 14-18BBs, because losing would drop me to 9-13BBs, which in my mind hurts my ability to get chips with no show down, and the gamble is so so so slightly +EV that I'd be ok giving it up. All those numbers are subject to change based on table dynamics though.

which decreases the chances it will get raised behind me [/ QUOTE ] I don't understand that. Why would you limping after a couple others decrease the chance it will get raised behind you. Obviously, it takes away a straight steal attempt but that seems to be countered by a more advanced "pwn the limpers" steal. |

I tend to believe that in many situations limpers encourage limpers, and certainly that was the case at the table i was at. my statement was meant to be situation specific, as in at this table an open limp lowered the chances of a raise in my opinion.

This is completely elementary and uninteresting.
I suggest you do something else where you're getting like 1.5:1 with tens and need to evaluate your equity against his hand range on the fly. |

I like how you are not even asking questions now, you are simply stating obvious facts that may or may not be obvious to the average poster.
